A short biography of my background and credentials.

Dr Harry Medford Griffiths BMBS MSc
I’m a hospital doctor with a background in clinical research, evidence appraisal, and medical education. My interest in hair loss began early in my twenties after my own personal experience with androgenetic alopecia, an experience that reshaped how I think about identity, confidence, and the type of doctor I want to become. What started as a personal challenge has grown into a long-standing academic and professional passion, now spanning almost six years of reading, studying, and engaging with the field.
I completed both my Medical Degree and Master’s degree in Clinical Research at the University of Plymouth in England, achieving First Class Honours in both. After graduating, I trained in London for two years before relocating to Australia for my third year of postgraduate work. I currently hold full registration in the UK and provisional registration in Australia, where I continue my clinical practice.
Alongside my clinical work, I’ve presented at international conferences, authored peer-reviewed papers, and led teaching initiatives that focus on translating evidence into accessible, human-centred understanding. These experiences have shaped the way I communicate: with clarity, empathy, and respect for both data and lived experience.
Hairline Helpline represents the intersection of those worlds: my medical training, my research background, and my personal journey with hair loss. I don’t perform hair transplantation, and I cannot prescribe medications for hair loss at this stage. However, I hope to specialise fully in this field in the future, and ultimately become a hair transplant surgeon. Until then, my focus remains on education, evidence, and building an accessible space for people who feel overwhelmed or uncertain.
My goal is simple: to bridge the gap between the scientific literature and public understanding, helping people make calm, informed decisions rather than ones driven by fear, confusion, or online noise. I want to contribute to a field that restores more than hair; one that restores confidence, clarity, and a sense of control.
