Hair Transplantation

Hair transplant: FUE vs FUT

FUE removes follicular units one by one; FUT/FUSS removes a strip that is dissected into follicular units.

Hair transplantation moves follicles from the donor area to thinning areas. In FUE, follicular units are extracted individually, leaving many tiny dot scars. In FUT or FUSS, a strip of donor scalp is removed and dissected under magnification into follicular units, leaving a linear scar. Neither method creates new donor hair; both redistribute a limited resource. Good results depend on donor assessment, hairline design, graft handling, future hair-loss planning and medical stabilisation. A transplant does not cure androgenetic alopecia, so ongoing treatment may still be needed to protect native hair.
