A tattoo-like technique that places pigment dots on the scalp to mimic shaved hair or reduce contrast.
Scalp micropigmentation is a cosmetic camouflage technique, not a hair regrowth treatment. Tiny pigment deposits are placed in the scalp to create the appearance of closely shaved hair, improve the look of diffuse thinning or disguise scars. Results depend heavily on operator skill, dot size, pigment choice, depth and hair-skin colour contrast. It can be useful for people who prefer a shaved look or want non-surgical camouflage, but it does not stop ongoing hair loss.
